Southtech were contacted by Cameron Lang from Fowler Homes Southland and asked to provide a solution that would allow them to remotely monitor a building project they had starting in Te Anau for the 7 month duration of the project.
Given that their main office was in Invercargill, they wanted to be able to check on the progress of the build remotely from Invercargill without having to travel to site each day.
Being a new build, there was no local internet available onsite, only 230V mains power for the contractors to use.
Working with our partners at Unifone, we came up with a portable internet solution that allowed for 1 camera to be installed onsite connected to the internet via a rugged 4G router. This provided remote access to the camera via the portable internet from Cameron’s computer in Invercargill.
Once the build is complete the equipment can easily be removed and the installed anywhere in Southland for the next building project.
